Commitment to quality
Here at Hedon Salads we are conscious that the customer expects a high quality product all year round. Our expert team of buyers travel throughout Europe to source only the very best produce, making sure that once harvested no time is wasted in shipping that product through the supply chain. Massive investment has been made to ensure a fully chilled system resulting in every item of produce arriving for processing on the scheduled hour, looking good and tasting great, demonstrating our ongoing commitment to quality.
Hedon also has an experienced team of six professional quality assurance members who check product on arrival and during processing, monitor shelf life and closely inspect the quality of the product prior to departure. In addition an independent laboratory is used to analyse all our products.
Strict policies and specifications are adhered to, covering aspects such as geographical location, choice of seed, fertilisers and pesticides, use of irrigation systems, crop rotation and environmentally friendly agricultural practices. Furthermore all our growers operate within the NFU protocol and use the HACCAP system to ensure microbiological, chemical and physical safety.
Our strong horticultural programme is geared towards keeping our growers advised of advances in technology, techniques and market demands. This practice has earned us a reputation for consistent crop excellence.
Our Bar code trace-ability and tracking systems ensure that produce purchased from the field can be traced directly through to the finished product on sale on the supermarket shelf.
