Hedon Salads wins Nisa Today's supply contract.
The news follows impressive growth in the group’s fresh and chilled ranges and its six-day-a-week delivery service – Premier Service – which is now distributing 50 million litres of milk a year.
The six additional suppliers specialise in areas including exotic fruit and vegetables, salads and organics, and have direct contact with the grower, providing the freshest possible produce and traceability benefits.
The move continues Nisa-Today’s crusade to provide its members with a fast, fresh and high calibre, chilled product and distribution solution.
John Sharpe, managing director of Central Distribution Trading at Nisa-Today’s explained, “The benefits we derive from the success of our fresh and chilled ranges, allow us to pass additional benefits onto our members. Having suppliers with close contacts to growers means we know exact information about the products. It also means we can ensure consistency of product quality, which is reassuring for us, our members and importantly, consumers.”
